Day 9 – Early Morning Prayer gettin better

Posted in 21 days of Fasting, Cleansing, Fasting, Prayer, Spiritual Discipline on January 10, 2008 by BrentD

As you fast your energy begins to pick up again.  I was having a hard time just waking up in the beginning, because I was so tired.  But this morning I popped right out of bed and felt great, read the bible, then prayed.  Fasting hlps us spiritually, but it also helps us physically as we get rid of some of that junk/toxins in our body that should not be there.

I am really enjoying this fast, my time with God seems more focused.

Remember, Paul was fasting when God called him and shared the assignment for his life, and Peter was fasting on the rooftop when God gave him a new revelation and called him to take the gospel to the Gentiles. What will God reveal to you during your Fast?

On your ninth day of fasting, remember:
1. Water needs to be with you at all times
2. Rest and relax as much as possible
3. Remember your prayer time and prayer place
4. Write your thoughts in your prayer journal
5. Continue to meditate and listen
6. Sugar free mints

Physical Effects:
1. Senses are heightened
2. Weight loss continues
3. You become mentally aware of the Lord’s presence all around you
4. Your hunger for His provision and His attention is intensified

Today’s Quote:
“Fasting prepares the way for God to give you fresh revelations, fresh visions, and clear purpose. God will do this for you. Stay the course, finish the race. An incredible reward of fresh wind and fresh fire awaits you on the other side.”

Jentezen Franklin

Thoughts for your Journal:
1. Think about the mental, physical and spiritual battle you encounter as you combat the hunger pangs.
2. Reflect on the battle that ensues between the carnal man and the spirit.
3. How has God’s presence become clearer through this experience?

8th day Breakthrough

Posted in 21 days of Fasting, Cleansing, Fasting, Prayer, Spiritual Discipline on January 9, 2008 by BrentD

God has answered a lot of prayers today and yesterday.  We really have been praying for some breakthrough during this fast, and God is already showing up.  I am pumped.  The fast is really brining my wife and I together as we talk about things we want to change about us in the inside.  God is moving, it seamed like we were in such a dry time for a long time, but fasting and prayer and believing God will move has been keeping us going.

Posted in 21 days of Fasting, Cleansing, Fasting, Spiritual Discipline on January 8, 2008 by BrentD

I am on day 7 of just water, and it went quite well, I have been praying a lot, and really asking God to really ignite a fire within me. My prayer time has been getting more interesting, although getting up early has been really hard. One good thing through 6 days I have lost 14 lbs.

Prayer answered I have been praying for a new Job, and today I had a phone interview and Friday I have another interview at the corporate office, so far it looks like it will be a great match for me and the company we will see Friday. Keep me in your prayers for this please.

Next phase I will move to a Daniels Fast – so Fruits and Veggies here I come.
